THE BANJO SCENE FROM ”DELIVERENCE” (1972)

 In the iconic scene from "Deliverance" (1972) featuring the "Dueling Banjos," Billy Redden, who played the banjo-playing boy, did not actually play the instrument. A skilled musician hid behind him, reaching through his sleeve to perform the song, creating the illusion that Redden was playing.
